Yes this is ridiculous. Is my pitch funny? I'm going to sell my NFL fan loyalty on eBay. I'm a Lions fan. That should be all the explanation necessary.
If you're reading this your first reaction is probably that I'm either a moron or I'm insane. I would argue that both are accurate statements. This is because I am a Lions fan. And all Lions fans who admit to it publicly must either be morons or insane at this point, because who in their right mind is a Lions fan?
Your next reaction may be to the price. Again you're probably thinking I've got a few screws loose. Yes and right now Jim Schwartz is that screwdriver. I picked $500 because in order to buy my loyalty I need to be able to invest in my new team. This means getting some appropriate gear and attending a game next year. If I'm going to invest in them I'm going to do it all the way.
Requirement: If you're buying my loyalty to a particular team you A) Can't have an owner who is also your GM and B) Can't be a team based in a bankrupt city.
Will you reward me and turn me into a cheesehead? I would say will you punish me, but since I've eliminated the Cowboys and Lions it can't possibly get any worse. I'm 33 and the Lions have won exactly 1 playoff game since I was born. Help me escape from this hell.

Give you $500 to support another team? Not bloody likely...

Barry Sanders is the only the ONLY thing that has kept me from jumping ship.

Yeah, I hear you. Born in Pontiac, moved to Cincinnati when I was young. Been a Lions fan the whole time.
I wholeheartedly support you on this.
